Showering and bathing with an ostomy

Having a shower, for once even stark naked!

The ostomy appliance prepared, I love it to take a shower completely naked. I put the old ostomy appliance into the breakfast bag and hop into the shower. I don’t use moisturizing shower gel in the region of the ostomy, otherwise the base plate wouldn’t hold perfectly.

It is advisable to remove the water-absorbent layers of the pouch when taking a shower daily. Thus, the area is much easier to dry so that no warm and humid climate is caused in the underwear, saving immeasurable amounts of time and of health insurance money.

I relax in the bathtub at least once a week, of course with an ostomy appliance.
